Linda Perry is usually crafter of top 40 smashes (including “Stripped”’s biggest track, “Beautiful”), But as Aguilera’s co-conspirator on the less comercial half of Basic, she admits, “I don’t even know if any of my songs are hits. But nobody makes albums anymore, and that’s why it was a pleasure to work on this, because Christina didn’t want just to make a bunch of singles. When she came to me with this idea, she had it all exactly mapped out. She put a CD [of influences] together, and wrote a two-page thing why she likes Billie Holiday, Why she likes Nina Simone. I said, count me in. If she said, “I want to do stripped again, because I sold a lot of records, Write me another “Beautiful,”‘ I would’ve told her the same thing I told P!NK: ‘We did it-that’s it, I don’t need to do that again.’ But this was a ballsy move.

yeah you cant make album after album complaining about your daddy and your relationship with him,. like xtina does.,.
and Linda Perry is just mad a p!nk for not putting as much of her songs (yeah they worked together on two albums) on try this than the did on miss.. although p!nk is just a better musician than xtina.. who wants to have a hit called dirtty? Although Linda Perry saiud that p!nk was extremely talented.. has she said the same about slutty xtina?
I’d like to know how Lindy gal came to that. Try This was as far from M!ssundaztood from hit singles as it was in sound. P!nk is smart enough to make mainstream music that people want to listen to and put emotion and thought into the songs as well.
I hear Xtina is going for an Andy Warhol influence this time around. Pop art and all that. Kinda like what Lady GaGa already WENT for. Linda and Christina can go jump in a lake.
