Christina Aguilera wants to open up a shelter for victims of domestic abuse, she told Seventeen for the magazine’s September cover story. She said she’s already working a lot with a domestic-violence and child-abuse shelter in
Pittsburgh, mostly by donating her personal belongings. “Some of these women leave their homes without anything,” she said. “They just grab the kids and get out of the situation. And so a lot of these women have nothing, and they have to start from scratch.” But beyond helping provide necessities, the singer says, it’s also important to help rebuild their self-esteem ” “because it’s really broken after they’ve been beaten down for so long.” Aguilera addresses the theme of domestic abuse on several songs on her new album, but her next single is more of a feel-good number called “Candy Man.”

I have an interesting question and I hope it hasn’t been asked.
In the segment titled “The Discovery” on Christina’s Video “christina aguilera, genie gets her wish”, it shows her as a child carrying a poster across, what is apparently a stage, with her name on it. The sign or poster reads “Christina Agularia”. I was wondering if “Aguilera” is a variation of “Agularia” and if so when was the spelling of her name changed? Under which spelling was she named at birth?
