This is one of those event albums that only comes around every decade or so – the one EVERYONE buys.

Who has the link to it? Christina is an amazing artist but I can’t wait till Aug 15th to hear her music. I’m still buying it (did the same for Nelly Furtado, another great artist with amazing versatility). It will serve as an early birthday present
I got the entire album for mininova and was surprised to see it leaked this early but I realized it gets an early release in Japan. Anyways the first side of the album (the dj premier side) is actually quite tame in terms of production and there are only 2 or 3 fast paced songs like “Aint No Other Man”. I was a little disappointed with this half. The second side (the linda perry side), I was much more impressed with. When Christina talked about the album sounding bluesey and inspired by the 20’s-40’s I pictured songs such as “Candyman” and “I Got Trouble” and the ballads like “Hurt” are just gorgeous. Even the intro is exciting and mysterious. Too bad she didn’t stick with Linda Perry for the whole album! Otherwise this album is great, save for about half of the first side all the songs are great and should do a lot for Christina’s diva-like persona and career

I agree with Nate-a-roo, the second disc is much stronger than the first. But with that being said, Christina did a fantastic job with this entire album, everything from style to concept works. And her vocals – wow. Now that she’s out of that dirty, party hard, striptease mood, her vocals are clearly much better. Definitely one of the stronger albums of the year, and I think considering all the albums that have come out so far and those that are about to, Back 2 Basics will be in contention for a Grammy.

Wow, shocked yet again with Aguilera. I commend her for the new direction she has taken her music, not to mention the fact that she turned to jazz. Hope people don’t alienate her because of this. And yes Disc 2 is her best work yet! Shout out to Linda Perry, she out did herself this time around

i found out that i liked more songs on the second cd than the first cd. not sayin` that it`s better, it just appeals to me more.

I love the album. I love Christina A. She is so great, and if anyone doesn’t recognize this talent.. they are fucking retarded and mainstream as hell. She’s got it. I love both c.d.’s. Wish there were more artists like her out there that take risks. I love the song dedication to the fans…that is so great. I love still dirrty too. and all the songs on the second c.d. are fab. CHRISTINA AGUILERA, U ARE MY INSPIRATION!

I agree with Jamie, I don’t wanna hear it… I wanna wait for its release! it’s gonna be a great day, I love her so much… I wont be able to sleep at night, then I’ll be excited on my way to the mall, I’ll buy it then I’ll come back happy as a child, I’ll open the cd and… wow it’s gonna be amazing!!! Based on the first two singles I heard from her album, I was afraid I would hate it…
But after the first listen (and it usually takes more than one for me with most artists) of most of the album I have to say I just might be crazy about it…
It gave me the feeling I got when I first heard Lauryn Hill’s Miseducation album…and that’s saying a LOT…both albums are special because they bring something different to the table that no other artist can copy.

I have to admit that when I heard the 30 sec clips, I was underwhelmed, now being able to hear the album as a whole, I’m totally eating my words. This is an incredible album, great vocals from Christina and the weaving of old school jazz and R&B with more modern hip hop touches, while nothing new, is done to great effect here. Props to DJ Premier and Linda Perry and of course Christina for making an album that is all at once unique and excellent. I can’t wait to see the critical responses and sales figures for this one. This is the one to beat this year, Beyonce and Janet may want to rethink their albums.

Hi ppl i am a xtina fanatic and a totally love the album best songs are ‘intro’,’slow down baby’,'back in the day’,'here to stay’ and ‘mercy on me’ which is the best.
i have the whole album cd1 and cd2 and it can be downloaded from mininova and all the songs have their own individual files which is better.
anyway have fun lisnin to xtina oh and u better still buy the album !

wow this album is awesome though i think that candyman is not a good option for the 2nd single its kind of old i dont think it will enjoy success, a song which just blew me out and i think is just awesome is hurt this should be the 2nd single wow its overal a good album after all.
