    I give credit where credit is due no matter who the artist is. Listen and watch some James Brown performances then you will get it. This was awesome and shot some much needed energy into the Grammys.

    I was just giving my unbiased opinion on her performance. I don’t listen to her music and I don’t like her image, but I know a great performance when I see one and she gave a great performance. Damn!!!

You could tell when she was being interviewed by Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. He asked her about her nomination and she said, “Well, I already lost, so..”. And who did she LOSE to? Mrs. Christina Aguilera and that performance explains exactly why.

    Astounding, Incredible, Impressive !
    It was a hell of a performance, it brought the classiness of the grammys, it was so classy and stylish, xtina definitly did her job.. Look here’s the thing I was in the living room with my laptop watching the performance, family members were watching T.V., christina’s voice was mighty, I didnt want to disturb them, so i try to volume-down but it wont do, christina keeps screaming more loudly, finally… I ended up watching it MUTE! crazy i know..

    I’m sure 100% of the respected artists at the Grammys last night, old and young, disagree with you. Hence, the standing ovation. She screamed like that for a reason. That’s a classic James Brown technique which she put her own spin to.

    I think she did a great job singing james brown this is a man’s man’s man’s world.
    I can’t imagine her singing it any other way. If you listen to James brown his voice is kinda forced and I think for her to sing this song effectively she needed to push it hard. Other wise I would have said “nerve of that woman singing a man’s man’s man’s song” rofl I felt said though looking at his pictures and films behind her. Kind of sad. I guess that’s life. You live and then you die.

    That was followed by a tap-dancing routine while black-and-white footage of Brown dancing played on a giant video screen above. Brown’s glittering red robe was then brought out and poetically hung on the microphone stand. It had been customary for the legendary singer to be taken off stage shielded and cloaked in such a robe once he had sweated everything out.

    And so the man who meant so much to soul, funk and pop music for half a century was honored by the Grammys without a word, without any notable attempt — verbally or musically — to express what Brown meant to music. Instead, we were given an octave-hitting pop princess and some tap.

    For the Recording Academy, this was nothing new. Before Brown passed away on Christmas day, he was given three Grammy awards, and only one in his heyday (in 1965 for “Papa’s Brand New Bag” as best R&B recording).

    In 1991, his album was honored for best album notes.

    In over four decades, Brown put out 48 singles that were either top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 or the R&B chart — songs like “Cold Sweat,” “There Was a Time,” “Super Bad,” “Soul Power,” “Make it Funky” and “I Got the Feelin’.”

    The most important aspect of Christina’s performance was her presence…it MOVED people. Her voice became a mere intrument of that extraordinary moment. Art is never an art until it delves deep to galvanize the receiver’s emotion and souls paint parallel perceptions. Singing “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World”, Christina cemented her status as a TRUE ARTIST for she was able to elevate her artistry, transcending colors of metaphysics, even her own soul - while multitudes so subconsciously succumb to her gravity…higher and higher up in stellar heights……then suddenly we grasp ourselves…lingering on that pindrop when Time skipped Infinity…still swathed with James Brown’s solemn elation. We take a longer pause…breathed in…and exhaled, “Damn.”
