Olympic superstar Michael Phelps was caught hitting a bong at a party. Phelps, who had previously claimed that his life was seriously structured. “All you do is eat, sleep, swim; eat, sleep, swim; eat, sleep, swim,” Phelps said. Clearly, that isn’t his style anymore.
There isn’t any word yet as to how this will affect Phelps’ plan to compete in the 2012 Olympics. The US Olympics Committee as well as Phelps’ coach Bob Bowman both refused to comment, which was surprising, considering that the Committee recently introuduced the four-ear ban on sport’s drug users.
A spokesperson for Phelps reportedly offered the ‘News of the World‘ (who ran the story first) an “extraordinary deal” not to publish the story, saying “Phelps would become our [News of the World] columnist for three years, host events and get his sponsors to advertise with us.” The spokesperson also insisted that Michael had taken over 1,500 drug tests and never failed one.
In exchange, the spokesperson asked that News of the World kill the Phelps’ bong picture, but ‘News‘ wasn’t going to give in that easy. They responded, saying, “It’s seeing if something potentially very negative for Michael could turn into something very positive for the News of the World.”

what an idiot
I hate when news corporations take it upon themselves to ruin the lives of others.
There are millions of people that have tried or still smoke pot. Maybe he just wanted to taste some of the forbidden fruit? It’s not that bad. I’m sure that many of the columnists that publish these stories have smoked some dank.
I think that people should just grow up and let people do as they please. I mean, he has one how many medals in the Olympics? I think that he should be able to sit back and hit a bong.
