Boulder Police informed John Ramsey, JonBenet’s father, that they are back on the murder case of his daughter JonBenet.

Lin Wood, attorney for JonBenet’s father, John Ramsey, said Monday that Boulder Police Chief Mark Beckner sent a letter to Ramsey as a courtesy to let him know the case was back with the Police Department. Beckner also said that a multiagency task force including some of the region’s most experienced investigators would be created to advise police, Wood said.

John Ramsey discovered his daughter’s body in the family’s basement, December 26, 1996. She had been strangled and beaten. A ransom note was found on the stairs of the home, demanding $118,000.

JonBenet’s mother, Lynn, passed away from ovarian cancer in 2006.
