Alex Rodriguez

According to CNN/SI Alex Rodriguez has tested positive for steroids.

Alex Rodriguez, Yankees 3rd Baseman and highest paid player in Major League Baseball, is just the latest big-name player to have fallen victim of those pesky drug-tests.

According to the 2003 test results, A-rod tested positive for two anabolic steroids. Alex was one of 104 MLB players that failed this 2003 drug-test. Because more than 5% of major league players had tested positive, baseball instituted a mandatory random-testing program, with penalties, in ‘04. Alex did win the AL MVP that season, playing short stop for the Texas Rangers.

When an SI reported approached Alex during a workout in Miami and asked for any comments, Alex responded “You’ll have to talk to the union”.

Alex has denied any use of steroids even when questions of his close friendship with Barry Bonds were brought into question.

So now is Alex just another Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Rafael Palmiero? Just some player who denied, denied, denied and then used, used used? Will this keep A-rod out of the Hall of Fame?
