People magazine is reporting that British reality TV star, Jade Goody, has died, following her battle with cervical cancer.
Jade passed away in her sleep early Sunday, sadly, Mother’s Day in the U.K.
Max Clifford, her publicist and friend, confirmed the news to PEOPLE. “She had been pretty much asleep for the last 24 hours,” he says, adding she died “just before 4 o’clock this morning.”
Her husband Jack Tweed and her mother Jackiey Budden were at her bedside.
Jade rose to fame during the British version of Big Brother in 2002 and spent much of her life in the public eye. A book chronicling her final months will be published shortly.
Jade is survived by her husband, Jack Tweed and her sons Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4.
