After a photo of Kate spanking daughter Leah circulated all over the internet, Kate was forced to make a statement.
“Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first. I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation,” Kate said in a statement to Life & Style Magazine on Wednesday.
In related news, TLC has confirmed that Jon & Kate +8 ratings have plumeted. The season opener pulled in a record 9.8 million viewers – the largest for TLC ever! However, this week’s episode which had an akward visit from the stars of TLC’s American Chopper gand only pulled in 2.9 million viewers.
Come on people….let’s stop worrying about them so TLC can cancel their show and they can try and recapture somewhat of a normal life.

She is absolutely right; her first responsibility is to raising those children and I for one, barely doing it well with 2, am not about to second guess what is like to raise 8. They are articulate, independent, full of personality and well behaved. Job well done as far as I am concerned. Meanwhile, I think Jon is an immature ass and I would like to know how his having an apartment in Manhattan benefits his children. Why not rent a smaller house near the children?
Those paparazzi are a real pain and have no idea what was going on. Whom do they think they are? Jon is a real JERK. He is more interested in his Tramp than his children. How is he going to react when they are married and she wants children? He doesn’t even have a job. Jon did not quit his last job he was fired for misappropriation of company property according too his boss. I doubt he will find another job anytime soon. Jon is first and foremost a liar. He said do what is best for himself and his kids. He does not care about those children Kate does.
the reason that epi. only got 2 million views is because that was also an episode of American Choppers which came on directly before that same episode of jon and kate plus 8 came on, so why would people watch it twice,think people, this website article is notentirly true!
I believe that Jon and Kate are great people. Media needs to move on to another story. Let the family live thier lives normally for once. I love watching the show. Jon and Kate are truely an inspiration. But, sad to say the media is tearing the family apart. Let God bless the family and take care of the worries that need to be taken care of. So what if Kate spanked Leah…have you ever spanked your kids? I sure do. The media should back off and let the parents do what they need to do. My prayers for the Gosselin family are heartfelt and I hope that whatever comes from the marriage, they raise wonderful, strong religious children.
