Some industry giants were on-hand in New York City last night for the 2009 Induction to the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

Among the inductees last night, Bon Jovi BFFs, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. “On a night like this, it comes back to one thing: the power of the pen,” Bon Jovi said. “If you write one song that comes across decades, you’re lucky. If you write a body of them and you’re recognized in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, it’s prestigious.”

Last year’s opening act on their tour, Daughtry honored them with a performance of “I’ll be there for You” and Jon & Richie sang their classic hit, Wanted: Dead or Alive.

Also among last night’s honorees were the legendary James Taylor and relative new-comer, Jason Mraz. Our photo from the night is courtesey of a stars favorite, Chris Daughtry. Daughtry tweeted about the event all night!
