The plane was about 1 hour from it’s destination, traveling from Yemen’s capital Sanaa to Moroni the capital of Comoros.
Moroni is about 1800 miles south of Yemen, off the Eastern African coast. According to Comoros Vice President Idi Nadhoim, “We don’t know if there are any survivors among the 150 people on the plane.”
Most of the passengers were Comoran, an official at Sanaa’s international airport said. The plane belonged to Yemeni state carrier Yemenia Air.
