Chuck Knoblauch Charged With Assault

Former Major League Baseball infielder, Chuck Knoblauch, appeared in court on Tuesday to face assault charges brought by his common-law wife. According to the police report, Knoblauch’s wife told police that he hit her in the face and choked her, Friday at the couple’s Houston home. The Houston Chronicle reported that Prosecutors contend Knoblauch had been drinking heavily Friday evening and taking Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, when the altercation occurred.

Knoblauch’s wife was attempting to get a hold of Knoblauch’s car keys, prosecutors, said, when he allegedly attacked her, the Chronicle reported.

A judge set Knoblauch’s bond at $10,000. Chuck was a member of the 1991 Minnesota Twins World series Championship team, as well as the New York Yankee World Series Champtionship teams from 1998-2000.

Chuck was a 4-time All-Star over his career and played with the Royals, Twins and Yankees.
