After the last few days and his transgression being made public, CBS funnyman, David Letterman, decided that he owed his wife, Regina Lasko, a public apology.
Of course, Dave is in the middle of a legal battle that started when a 48 hours producer, Robert (Joe) Halderman, began trying to extort Dave to the tune of $2 million dollars.
Dave has attempted to keep everything light-hearted and attempted to spin the story, providing damage control, but it will be interesting to see if CBS takes any action. Dave claims that the relationship with then Late Show employee, Stephanie Brikitt, was over 6 years ago.
