President Obama’s First Public Statements Following his Nobel Peace Prize

President Obama made his first public remarks from the White House Rose Garden this afternoon, regarding winning a Nobel Peace Prize.

Saying he was “surprised and and deeply humbled,” Obama added: “To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of some of the transformative figures who have been honored by this prize.” He went on to say that it “reflects the kind of world that those men and women and all Americans want to build.”
