University of Connecticut cornerback, Jasper Howard was stabbed to death Saturday night during an on-campus fight that occurred after the Connecticut/Louisville football game.
According to The Hartford Courant, Howard a Junior, was air flighted to St. Francis Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
During their win over Louisville Saturday, Jasper had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery in the 38-25 victory.
Head Coach Edsall and Senior Captain Desi Cullen met with the media Sunday afternoon at the Burton Family Complex shortly after Edsall had spoken to Howard’s girlfriend. Jasper Howard, commonly called “Jazz”, and his girlfriend were expecting a child.
“One of my sons has been taken away,” he said. “There is nothing in my job description that says you have to identify a body.”
