The Tennessean newspaper has released a string of text messages between former Tennessee Titans Quarterback, Steve McNair and his mistress, Sahel Kazemi
Nashville police released the text messages Monday night as part of a case summary and detailed the exchanges between the two hours before the July 4 murder-suicide. Police report that Kazemi sent Steve a text on July 3rd, requesting that he transfer $2000 into her bank account. Bank accounts indicate that the transfer did in fact occur.
Police say texts show McNair had someone transfer the money. The texts also show Kazemi meeting McNair at the Nashville condominium where he was shot. He asked her to leave the front door open for him.
Since the investigation began another girlfriend has come forward, Leah Ignagni, has spoken with police. Ignagni has indicated that she had spent time with Steve at his condo, and had seen the 2007 black Escalade circling the block. She also told police that she did see the car parked outside of Steve’s condo a few weeks before his murder.
Police are yet to close the investigation saying, “If anyone has information that needs to come to the attention of the police department, we’ll be happy to receive it as part of this investigation,” Aaron told The Associated Press. “But at this juncture, there has been nothing uncovered that suggests this is not a murder-suicide.”
