The body of 7-year old Somer Thompson has been found. Investigators found Somer’s remains at a Georgia landfill about 55 miles from her home in Orange Park, Florida.
Somer was on her home from school with her twin brother and 10-year old sister when the children began walking separately after an argument. Somer vanished on her mile-long walk home from Grove Park Elementary School. She left the building at approximately 2:50 p.m. on October 19. Police followed a trail from the families neighborhood to a landfill near the Florida/Georgia line. Her body was discovered at approximately 9:00 pm last night.
A $25,000 reward is being offered by The Justice Coalition, an organization from the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Our condolences to the Thompson family during this difficult time.
