Known for her elaborate costumes and amazing live shows, Cher has toured the world over entertaining millions of fans. 22. Billy Joel
The Piano Man has had his share of personal tragedy but his music has never let anyone down. With some of the great hits of the 70s and 80s, his incredible piano skills and song-writing abilities marked a generation. Everyone knows some UpTown Girl and The Longest Time.
21. Led Zeppelin

He may wear a cowboy hat but Garth has never known a “country” boundary. 19. Ray Charles
Now keep in mind, we’re not talking about Jamie Foxx, we’re talking about the actual Ray Charles. Listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the Greatest singers and artists of All-time, Ray Charles blew crowds away with his amazing performances and ground-breaking music. Ray merged genres of music and brought races together.
18. Aerosmith
We won’t hold against them the fact that they are from Boston but Aerosmith has given us a soundtrack to party by. With 21 Top 100 hits in their career, the boys from Boston continue to rock. Even though their last world tour was 2 years ago (2007) they did make a few appearances this year with ZZ Top until front-man, Steven Tyler took a spill during a show.
17. KISS
Widely regarded as one of the Greatest live performers of all-time, we’re ranking KISS at 17th. Known for their insane live shows and amazing pyrotechnics, Gene Simmons, his tongue and the rest of the band will rock your socks off.

One of the most talented guitar players to ever walk this earth is a concert that you’ll remember for a lifetime. One of Rolling Stones, Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, Eric has been rocking audiences around the world since 1963. Whether he has been touring solo or as a member of The Yardbirds, Eric has given us some of the greatest songs in history.
15. Metallica
Selling more than 90 Million albums worldwide, Metallica is considered one of the “Big 4″ of thrash metal. As hairbands began to fade, Metallica reached out to those who wanted more rock to and those ever-important 8 minute instrumental breaks. Metallica was ranked by MTV as the third “Greatest Heavy Metal Band in History”, listed fifth on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock,and number one on VH1’s 20 Greatest Metal Bands list. The Material girl has been known for years for her stage shows. Her outlandish costumes and controversial performances created a legacy for Madonna that will last for decades. She has sold more than 200 Million Albums worldwide, ranked as the number one Solo artist of all time by Rolling Stone (2nd overall behind The Beatles) and has earned her rightful place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
12. Jimi Hendrix
Widely regarded as one of the greatest guitar players of all time, Jimi Hendrix, died following controversial circumstances at the tender age of 27. Following strong success in Europe, Jimi created a cult-like following in the United States, securing his place in Pop Culture history when he headlined Woodstock. Those that were lucky enough to see him play live can forever claim they say the greatest electric guitarist ever.

While some may think she’s to young to be on this list, there are millions of loyal Beyonce fans around the world that will stand up and argue. Her songwriting has coined phrases that we’ve added to the English language. 10. Kenny Chesney
With the highest grossing concert sales from 2000-2009, Kenny Chesney has rocketed himself to the top of the must-see concert list. A Kenny Chesney concert isn’t just about the show, it is truly about the experience. It starts at daybreak with the tailgate and ends after a 2 1/2 hour high energy Kenny performance. Kenny skeptics may say that he’s a New-Age Jimmy Buffet, but a KC fan will tell you this entertainer is his own brand.
9. Elton John
In the 70s no one wore a bigger pair of glasses than Sir Elton John…today no one packs a bigger punch. With a career that has spanned 4 decades, Elton has sold over 200 million albums and has over 50 Top 40 hits. Since he began playing the piano at the age of 3, Elton has been playing and singing for nearly 60 years. Elton just completed a 2009 tour with his friend and co-piano man, Billy Joel. You know you want to sing Goodbye Yellow Brick Road…but it doesn’t sound nearly as awesome if you don’t have an English accent.
8. Nirvana
When the grunge movement began Nirvana and lead singer Kurt Cobain were leading the charge. Formed out of Seattle area the band brought a new sound to the radio waves and Smells Like Teen Spirit, a total new brand of song changed the landscape of American Music. Selling at its peak, 400,000 copies per week the band toured with great success and gained international fame. Cobain struggled with a heroine addiction and took his own life inside his Seattle home in 1994. If you actually saw Nirvana live…consider yourself fortunate.
7. The Doors
While The Doors may not have enjoyed a lengthy career, they are still revered and have their place in music history. Their cult-like following has elevated their “rock star status” and kept them at the fore-front of rock music. While lead singer Jim Morrison reportedly had a “lack-luster” approach to live performances, that didn’t keep the crowds from following them. The band did try and perform after lead-singer Jim Morrison’s death in 1971 but they did disband in 1973. Box sets and live footage have continued The Doors commercial success throughout the years.
6. Rolling Stones
When the Rolling Stones arrived onto the US musical landscape as part of the 1960s “British Invasion” they took the industry by storm. Lead by Mic Jagger and Keith Richards the ‘Stones’ defined Rock Stars. Their lavish lifestyle set a tone for all rockers to live up to and their string of sold-out tours and smash hits aren’t too shabby either. The Rolling Stones rank 4th among the Top 100 Artists of All Time.
5. U2
Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr have been rocking around the world since 1976 and show no signs up stopping! With over 145 million albums sold worldwide and 22 Grammy’s to their credit the boys from Dublin have established themselves as legendary and as a Pop Culture icon. While U2 has given us monster hits throughout the years, their work to save the world is just as impressive. Band Aid, Amnesty International to just name a few show the tireless efforts of Bono and the boys to make this world a better place.
4. Michael Jackson
You may still not be sure if The King of Pop was involved inappropriately with young children but you cannot question his impact on the World of Music. From his early days with the Jackson 5 to his ‘This Is It‘ tour that we’ll never see do to his untimely death, Michael was the biggest musical star around the world. If you never had the pleasure of seeing Michael moonwalk in person, all we can say is what a shame. It is estimated that Michael sold over 500 Million albums worldwide.
3. Queen
When you think concert experience, one of the first shows that comes to mind is Queen. With vocals that can’t be matched and hits of massive proportion Freddie Mercury and the boys sent crowds around the world into a frenzy. With Mercury’s voice thought to be one of the best all-time, Queen was able to span from the 70s to the 90s. Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You are both in the Top 100 Songs of All-Time.
2. The Beatles
Considered one of the Greatest bands of All-Time, The Beatles were the British Invasion. With album sales topping the 100 Million mark, their impact on music and pop culture will never be matched. Their clothes and hair made them trend-setters and their music made them unforgettable. John, Paul, George and Ringo forever changed the world.
1. Elvis Presley
You can’t sell 100 Billion albums and not be the undisputed King. Elvis Presley forever changed American Music. With his hip-shaking blend of country, rock and blues, Elvis charted his success into a brand. With albums, movies, apparel and Graceland the Elvis empire has continued to make more than most living stars. Regardless of the fact that Elvis’ life was cut-short dying at the tender age of 42, his impact will live on forever.
