Any concerts list has to, at the very least, include Dave Matthews Band and should also include Phish and Grateful Dead (all three are well known for originally achieving their success through their live act). When you are playing sold out shows for tens of thousands of fans before you even have a radio hit, that says something.

What a crappy list, to have led zeppelin so low is a shame. You write about U2, but don't mention that their tours are legendary and a spectacle (zoo tv, elevation). You write about nirvana, but exclude Pearl Jam. You don't include the dead, or radiohead. Your reasoning for Elvis being the number 1 concert is weak. He might be the most influential artist in popular music, but I really don't hear much about his concerts. I wouldn't put the beatles so high for concert act since they stopped touring at the height of their success to focus on their albums, which shows in the quality of their latter work. What about the foo fighters, muse, or oasis (all who sold out wimbley stadium).

Oh by the way Happy 75th Birthday to Elvis Presley today.
Um, you have you're facts a little wrong here. The Beatles have sold almost 2 billion albums not 100 million albums, are you kidding they sold a 100 million records by 1965 and have sold more records than Elvis Presley to date 2010. I am a Beatles fan and should argue that they belong in the # 1 spot but being today is the King's birthday he belongs there just for today but tomorrow put the Fab Four back where they belong at the top please.

Anyway Godspeed Elvis, I love you !!

Where is Tina Turner? She has sold more concert tickets than any man or woman in history and is arguably the best live performer ever, and she doesn't make this list? Wow!
