Comedian, Soupy Sales, has died at the age of 83 at this New York Home. Soupy appeared in several U.S. gameshows throughout his career and had his own daily children’s television show, ‘Lunch with Soupy Sales‘.
Manager and friend Paul Dver said of his friends passing, “Soupy was the last of the great TV comics when you talk about Ernie Kovacs, Red Skelton, right down to Howdy Doody. But it was bigger than that, because he used a children’s format aimed at the kids and then he would forget he was doing a kids’ show and do a wild, unrehearsed, wacky improv for a half-hour every day for 15 years.”
Soupy had been in the care of hospice at this home. He is survived by his wife, Trudy Carson and children, Hunt and Tony Sales.
