Kimberly Munley, a Police Sergeant for the Killeen Police Department is being hailed as a hero for stopping a shooting spree at Fort Hood on Thursday afternoon. Munley stopped the shooting spree in progress, when she shot army psychiatrist Major Nidal Hasan.
Kimberly hit Hasan 4 times and was shot herself. The bullet passed through both of her legs. She is currently listed in stable condition as a local community hospital.
Hasan was the first responder to the scene. During a press briefing, Colonel John Rossi said, “Her efforts were superb.”
