One of the stars of Discovery Channel’s reality show Deadliest Catch, Captain Phil Harris has died at the age of 53. Harris had suffered a stroke and had been in an Alaskan hospital. The stroke had occurred during an unload a few weeks ago. Harris had been recovering well but his condition changed drastically.
Harris’ sons Jake and Josh told TMZ:
“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad, Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate that strength. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”
RIP Captain Phil. Phil was just 53 years old.
