We’ve heard oodles of people offering their support to Britney Spears over the last month.

But Avril Lavigne has some less than sympathetic words for her.

Avril told The Sun: “What’s happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person.

“If you want a piece of this business you have to be able to deal with it.

“You can’t complain about pressures, the paparazzi, the madness because that’s the job.”

Avril said that she likes to have a drink and party too, but that she can handle it and “no one really gets to know”.

According to contact music Avril Lavinge has surprised herself by becoming an admirer of Britney Spears, after realising how difficult it is to sing and dance at the same time.

Lavigne has stunned fans by dancing in the video for her new single the girlfriend and has only just realised why Spears often mimed on stage.

She says, “I’ve had to work with a choreographer but I’m actually quite athletic and I have good rhythm so it comes natural to me. “It made me appreciate people like Britney Spears, as I realise how much work goes into that stuff. The whole thing where you sing and dance is so hard, so that’s probably why she doesn’t sing, right, ha ha!”

On her changed ways: “I was such a tomboy, running around, getting in fights, hanging out with guys. I look back and laugh as I realize how much I’ve grown up. God I was such a ****.”
