Victoria Beckham house hunting in LA 1/14

Celebrities led a rush to grab football tickets as David Beckham mania gripped Los Angeles yesterday.

Rod Stewart, movie director Steven Spielberg and Jennifer Lopez were among those who snapped up season tickets for his new club LA Galaxy.

And Victoria Beckham was mobbed when she jetted into LA to go house hunting amid scenes of chaos.

Galaxy have sold more than 5,000 season tickets at up to £1,500 each since Beckham’s £128million move from Real Madrid was announced.

A club source said: “The ticket office has been buzzing with the names of people who bought a ticket. Representatives of Rod Stewart have been in touch, as have those for Steven Spielberg.

“We’ve never had so many calls in such a short time.”

Soccer-mad rocker Rod, 62, has an estate in Beverly Hills. Spielberg is believed to have bought the tickets for his three footie fan daughters.

Why is Victoria Beckham so upset

Poor Mrs. Beckham is so upset. Why? David Backham stepped down as captain of the England team yesterday (02JUL06), after the team was defeated by Portugal in the World Cup on Saturday (01JUL06). Beckham, tearful and shaking, admitted he had decided to quit some time ago after concluding it was best for his family and himself. He says, It was the greatest honour of my career, fulfilling my childhood dream. Now almost six years later, having been captain for 58 of my 95 caps, I feel the time is right to pass on the armband as we enter into a new era. I came to this decision some time ago but I had hoped to announce it on the back of a successful World Cup.

Davin Beckham singns a book deal

England soccer ace DAVID BECKHAM has signed his third book deal in five years - but has promised fans the tome will focus on his soccer skills this time. The Real Madrid player discussed his personal life with ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and their children in DAVID BECKHAM: MY WORLD in 2001 and DAVID BECKHAM: MY SIDE in 2004 - the best-selling autobiography in Britain that year. In between playing for the Spanish team and England in this summer’s World Cup championships, Beckham has been writing MAKING IT REAL, which hits book stores in September (06). He says, “I hope everyone who reads it will not only learn new skills but have fun with their football.”
