This Is It Will Remain in Theatres Through Thanksiving

Well we all knew this was coming. Originally announced as a 2-week “limited engagement” Sony Pictures has announced today that Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ will remain in theatres until Thanksgiving.

Sony Pictures rep, Jeff Blake, explained:

“In just 5 days, Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT has become the highest grossing concert film of all time and we are elated by the response to this special film by fans, critics and moviegoers from all over the world. With this kind of global response, it’s clear that the motion picture deserves an extended run and we are going to do everything we can to make the film available to everyone who wants to see Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT on the big screen.”

We all know that Michael Jackson’s legacy will live on forever but this latest single will continue to help ensure this.

Michael was just days away from packing up and heading to London for the 50-concert set ‘This is It‘ Tour before his tragic death this summer. You can listen to the new single here.

Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for This Is In, in theatres. The concert footage will only run for 2 weeks starting October 28th.

A 2-disc music cd will alos be released in support of the film, This Is It will be available starting October 27th.

“This could be the greatest concert no one got to see”, said Kenny Ortega. He is of course referencing the ‘This Is It’ Tour that the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, didn’t get to perform.

Due to his untimely death over the summer, Michael Jackson fans won’t be able to see MJs return tour, but they can see the AIG filmed footage of the rehearsals of the tour preparations.

The movie will be in theatres beginning October 28th and run for only 2 weeks. You can check out all of the information here.

Little sister of The Late King of Pop, Janet Jackson, will perform a tribute this Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards. Janet’s tribute will include clips of MJ as well as a performance.

Michael Jackson Finally Laid to Rest

After nearly 2 months, The late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has finally been laid to rest. Close friends and family attended the service at Forrest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles , on Thursday (September 3). In attendance, The entire Jackson family, as well as close friends, Rev. Al Sharpton, Elizabeth Taylor, Barry Bonds, Macaulay Culkin with girlfriend, Mila Kunis, Chris Tucker, Kenny Ortega, Corey Feldman and Lisa Marie Presley.

I understnad everyone on this celebrity list, with the exception of Barry Bonds? Strikes me as strange. Maybe Barry & MJ were pals but I just can’t see that connection.

Oprah To Dedicate September 16th Show to Michael Jackson

On Wednesday (September 2), Harpo Productions announced that the September 16 Oprah Winfrey show will feature excerpts from her historic 1993 interview with The King of Pop.

Oprah’s 24th Season will kick-off Monday, September 14th with a two-part interview with Diva, Whitney Houston.

Katherine Jackson Granted Full Custody of Michael Jackson’s Children

Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, has been granted full custody of his 3 children. An agreement was reached between Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of Michael’s 2 older children and Katherine.

“There is no situation better for these children than for them to be raised and reared in the loving care of Mrs. Katherine Jackson,” L. Londell McMillan said, her attorney.

Rowe will have “meaningful visitation rights” with her two children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris Michael Katherine, 11.

Rumors had been circulating that Michael’s sisters Janet and Rebbie were also discussing pursuing custody of the children. Katherine Jackson, while very involved in the children’s lives, is 79 years old.

Joe Jackson confirms Michael Jackson Love-Child

Joe Jackson, father of the late Michael Jackson has confirmed that MJ did father a lovechild. After lots of speculation, Joe is confirming that Michael fathered 25-year-old Norwegian dancer/rapper Omer “Obee” Bhatti after a one-night stand with the boy’s mother, Pia Bhatti, in 1983.

Omer recently confirmed that Michael was not his father — even adding that he and his parents met the King of Pop while he was vacationing in Norway in 1996. Smitten with the talented young Michael Jackson impersonator, Michael took Omer and his family under his wing; he once employed Omer’s mom as a nanny and his dad as a driver.

So…who knows? Hopefully, Joe isn’t allowed anywhere near ANY of Michael’s kids!

Was Michael Jackson murdered?

The Associated Press reports that Dr. Conrad Murray gave the Late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, the anesthetic propofol on the night before his death.

Dr. Murray, is at the center of a manslaughter investigation, according to court documents. A lawyer for Dr. Murray tells The AP that he did not prescribe or administer anything that should have killed the King of Pop.

The official coroners report is due out later this week. Apparently we could be expecting the death of MJ to be ruled as a homicide?

Stay tuned to later this week for further details. This could bring a whole new twist to the death of Michael.

Michael Jackson video to hit Theatre October 30

Footage that was shot during Michael Jackson’s final rehearsals will now be released in theatres.

Concert promoters AEG Live, were paid $60 million by Sony Pictures for the rights to footage shot during MJs rehearsals for the This Is It Concert Series.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film will hit theatres in October.

Blanket confused “Where’s Daddy?”

Blanket, the youngest of the late Michael Jackson’s 3 children thinks that his dad is on “holiday.”

“It is obvious to me that Blanket is still unsure about what exactly happened to his father. He said, ‘Where’s daddy gone? On holiday?’ It was a rhetorical question and it broke my heart,” this according to Mark Lester, godfather to Michael’s three children, Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket .

Mark recently visited the Jackson kids at the family’s estate in Encino, California — he describes the reunion as highly emotional.

“Prince was taciturn, unusual for him, but we still had a hug,” he added. “Paris gave me a tight hug and we just held each other for a while. We were both welling up. I told her that her dad would always lie in her heart and be remembered by at least half of the world. Paris replied, ‘I’m just glad he is at peace.’ “
