Shaniya Davis Autopsy; Mother likely to be Charged with Murder

Now that Shaniya Davis, the 5 year old who’s body was recovered earlier this week by police, has been positively identified, her mother may face a murder charge.

Allegedly, her mother sold the 5-year old prostitution. Antoinette Davis, 25, has been charged with human trafficking and prostitution. Police said she also lied to them that Shaniya missing last week.

A 29-year-old man Mario Andrette McNeill has also been charged in the case with kidnapping. Sanford, North Carolina police stumbled upon the childs body, hid underneath some foliage outside of Sanford. When the girl was kidnapped from her home in Fayetteville around 5.30am, she then appeared on a hotel security camera, approximately 30 miles away, being held by a man thought to be Mario Andrette McNeill.

An autopsy has been scheduled in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in hopes to determine a cause of death for Shaniya.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Confirmed Leukemia

Former Los Angeles Laker and NBA Hall of Fame star, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar announced on Tuesday that he does have Leukemia.

Abdul-Jabbar announced that he is suffering from a rare form of leukemia but says that his prognosis is encouraging. Kareem was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in December 2008 he told the AP.

“I was getting hot flashes and sweats on a regular basis,” he explained. “That’s not normal, even for my age….I was scared. I thought it was all the same. I thought it could mean I have a month to live.”

Abdul-Jabbar is currently taking an oral medication for the disease. He has become the official spokesman for the Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis, which makes a drug that treats the illness.

“Having lost one of my closest friends to a different, highly aggressive form of leukemia, I knew how serious my diagnosis was,” said Abdul-Jabbar. “My own life expectancy became a question mark.”

Hostage Held at Stissing Mountain High School

A hostage situation erupted this morning when the Principal of Stissing Mountain High School, 90 miles north of New York City, was taken hostage.

According to Town Supervisor, Gregg Pulver, and the armed suspect, who attended Stissing during the 1980s, head the school headmaster at gunpoint for approximately 2 hours. A SWAT team and 100 other police officers from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the scene.

The school has around 500 students and 100 faculty and staff.

“He is in custody, he has given himself up. No gunshots fired. The students are safe. We have a good outcome.”

Elizabeth Lambert New Mexico Soccer Player Suspended

Following a bizarre incident during a New Mexico/BYU, Elizabeth Lambert a New Mexico Soccer player, punched Carlee Payne in the back, kicking the ball into the face of another player and violently yanking Kassidy Shumway to the floor by her pony tail.

Video of Lambert’s outrageous behavior prompted her to say, “I am deeply and wholeheartedly regretful of my actions….I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation…This is in no way indicative of my character or the soccer player that I am.”

BYU won the game 1-0, just in case you were wondering. Check out the video here of Lambert’s tantrum. Elizabeth has been suspended indefinitely from all team practices, competition and conditioning activities

Ft. Hood Shooting, 11 Killed Including Gunman; 30 Injured

Eleven people plus a gunman were killed and 31 were wounded after the gunman opened fire at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday, a Fort Hood spokesman said.

Ft. Hood, the largest US Military complex, is home to 40,000 troops,and is the base for the Army’s 1st Cavalry Division and elements of the 4th Infantry Division, as well as the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment and the 13th Corps Support Command. It is located near Killeen, Texas.

The gunman has been identified as Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan. During a Press Conference this afternoon, President Barack Obama called the Fort Hood, Texas, shootings “tragic” and “a horrific outburst of violence.”

He expressed his condolences for the shooting victims.

“These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to protect the rest of us on a daily basis,” he said.

“It’s difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil.”

If you have checked out Google today then you can see the stamp of Sesame Street! November 10th marks the 40th season of the crew of Sesame Street and their education of young minds around the world.

Sesame Street is the most popular children’s TV show in the world, with 20 independent versions and daily broadcasts in over 120 countries.

To help launch the new season, Big Bird will be a guest on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight. And Elmo and Rosita will make appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday, November 9th.

Collin Wilcox Dead at 74

Actress Collin Wilcox, best known for her role in “To Kill a Mockingbird” has passed away. Collin had been battling brain cancer and passed away last week at her North Carolina home.

Collin is survived by her husband, Scott Paxton and their two children, Michael and Kimberly.

Boy Missing After Colorado Balloon Crashes

A 6-year old Ft. Collins little boy, Falcon Henne, is currently missing. News reports began breaking earlier this afternoon, that The Henne family home-made balloon had launched from their Coloado home.

As the balloon launched into the Colorado sky, it was being speculated that one of the children were inside the aircraft. The balloon floated Southeast around 8000 feet in elevation before it crashed to the ground near Colorado Springs.

When rescuers arrived on the scene, the boy was not inside the “homemade flying saucer”. His brother told the local sheriff’s office that the boy climbed inside the craft.

The balloon was in the air for approximately 2 1/2 hours. The search for the missing child still continues.
